The photographic art of Donald Rogers O’Neal

Artist's Statement

Don and Gale

My photographs celebrate the splendor and variety of the natural and human heritage of planet earth. I find inspiration and delight in the beauty of nature, man-made objects, and computer manipulation of imagery into photographic art.

Within the realm of photography, there are many styles, subjects, concepts and approaches. I strive to create in a variety of photographic techniques, or conceptual methods, but always rely on the basics of visual literacy: good composition and design. I believe strongly in the apparent use of the Elements and Principles of Art, and to balance these basics with aesthetic prowess and technical quality. I, therefore hope to reach the viewer on many levels, but have them focus on the richness in these basic elements.

Viewers often comment about the sense of visual design or composition in my photography. Also, the use of lighting that captures or transcends the mood in the image.

My wife Gale and I enjoy traveling, and I get to photograph some of the most beautiful and exciting places in the world. Through my photography, I am conveying visual emotions of being in some special place, interpreted by the inherent compositional elements.

My work covers a vide variety of subject matter and photographic modes because I hope to share these visual experiences with many others to appreciate. While my home may look like a gallery to some, it does have the richness that can only be achieved through wall art. WalltoWallPhotos.com is an avenue to not only express and showcase my works, but also to offer quality photography and photo art, to enhance any office or home wall décor at a reasonable price. Interior designers like the search capabilities, since it allows one to view the basic visual literacy palette I referred to above. I hope you will enjoy browsing, searching and cataloging your favorite images.

I hope that you will have seen some photography that allows you to see subjects from a new point of view.
